He and pianist Kristin Koetsier began our service with the Prelude: I”ll walk with God, by Nicholas Brodszky.
He accompanied us also on our hymn, Let All Things now living, and wrapped up our time together with the postlude.
Rev. Andrew Song spent several years working as a “foreign missionary in Canada.”
Originally from Taiwan, Rev. Song came to Canada on a student visa – and God led him into the mission field in the Presbyterian Church in Canada – into three Indigenous communities near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
He shares about the time he spent there, about the people he met and the miracles God did in their lives and in their communities. Don’t miss this week’s Mission Awareness.
And if you’re wondering about the title, Take Away the Stone – it refers to Jesus telling others to take away the stone from Lazarus’ tomb so he could walk back into the land of the living. God works among us and with us.

Kristin Koetsier shares her gift of music with us as we worship and praise our Lord.
Since age five, she studied piano with a Barrie teacher, Nena LaMarre and she went onto earn her A.R.C.T –one of the highest academic honours The Royal Conservatory of Music bestows — and a music performance diploma from the University of Western Ontario.
The 27-year-old musician is no stranger to churches or being an accompanist. While in high school, Kristin and her teacher Nena, shared their talents with Central United Church’s choir. Kristin also played piano with her high school choir.

This Thanksgiving Sunday, we have even more reason to give thanks: the return of live singing!
Our Praise Team reminded us of the joy of classics like “I will enter His gates with Thanksgiving in my Heart”, “This is the Day and “Let us give thanks with a grateful heart” – pieces that we might’ve taken for granted. We are so grateful for the simple things we might’ve overlooked and for the joy of harmony.
St. Andrew’s Women’s Missionary Society has supported several life-changing projects in Malawi . Here’s one that feeds and
We support 25 grandmothers who belong to the Mary Agogos group. Our gifts have provided school fees and uniforms for orphan children who these grandmothers support, as well as fertilizer for gardens and maize for the grandmothers themselves. This past year we asked the grandmothers how they might start a sustainable project with the money we send. With the help of their local agriculture representative, they bought 50 laying hens, along with 4 breeding hens and a rooster. One of our members gave the group a pair of goats when she was in Malawi 11 years ago, and they have continued to breed goats, which supply milk, meat, and fertilizer.

Our west-facing sanctuary window, featuring Jesus our Lord, has been under cover all summer, as window restoration specialists have been hard at work all summer not just on the sill and supporting beams, but on revitalizing the window.
The project is expected to be complete later this month.
In honour of the children who were lost and all people living with the consequences of that legacy, The Presbyterian Church in Canada has established the Honouring the Children: Reconciliation and Residential Schools Fund. We have committed $1 million to that fund.
This fund will support initiatives associated with searches for unmarked burial sites in communities where schools were operated by The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
This work begins with listening. We continue to live out the covenants made in the 1994 Confession , be led by the principles articulated by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and seek the guidance of Indigenous people and affected communities. Responses may include searching for graves, responding to trauma and supporting healing initiatives. All work will complement efforts to address systemic racism against Indigenous people, both in the church and Canadian society, and the ongoing healing and reconciliation work .
To begin, the church has committed $1 million from national funds, and invites congregations and individuals to make additional contributions to this important work.
